On behalf of the CPC and in his own name, Xi extended warm congratulations on the opening of the meeting and sincere greetings to leaders of political parties of Arab countries attending the meeting.
Xi pointed out that the time-honored friendship between China and Arab states has grown from strength to strength. As close companions along the ancient Silk Road, Chinese and Arab peoples are working hand in hand in Belt and Road cooperation for their shared aspirations of national prosperity and rejuvenation.
In the face of the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, China and Arab countries have rendered each other assistance and support to weather the trying moment together, adding a new chapter to the effort of building a community with a shared future for China and Arab states.
Xi noted that adversity reveals true friendship. Through the joint battle against COVID-19, the Sino-Arab Strategic Partnership will be further strengthened on an even stronger footing with closer people-to-people ties and brighter prospects for cooperation.
Xi emphasized that COVID-19 has shown once again that humanity lives in a community with a shared future. The CPC and the Chinese government always put the people and their lives front and center. Through its all-out efforts to save lives, China has scored major strategic achievements in bringing the virus under control. China has all along actively participated in and promoted international cooperation in an open, transparent and responsible manner, and done its utmost to support and assist the rest of the world in fighting the disease.
Xi underscored China's readiness to work with Arab states and the wider international community to step up solidarity and cooperation, support the leading role of the WHO, and build a global community of health for all.
Xi hailed the dialogue as an important platform for exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Arab political parties. Facing new realities and new challenges brought by COVID-19, the CPC will work with political parties in Arab countries to better leverage the role of the dialogue as a platform to step up strategic communication and deepen governance experience sharing as disease control is conducted on a regular basis. He called on the two sides to work tirelessly in the spirit of mutual respect and mutual learning toward building a community with a shared future for China and Arab states and achieving the great national rejuvenation for both sides. President Xi concluded the message by wishing the meeting a full success.
The Extraordinary Meeting of the Dialogue between the Communist Party of China and Political Parties of Arab Countries was held by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
