Wang Yi has a telephone call with South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha

On January 28, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a telephone call with South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha at the latter's request.

Kang Kyung-wha said, the South Korean side highly values the Chinese government and people's unity and determination to resolutely control the novel coronavirus epidemic, and appreciates the powerful measures China has taken. Facing difficulties, neighbors should support and help each other. South Korean is willing to work with China to meet the challenges and stop the spread of the epidemic, and will provide the necessary medical supplies as soon as possible according to the needs of the Chinese side.

Wang Yi said, under President Xi Jinping's leadership and deployment, we have established a nationwide system, brought into play our institutional advantages, and resolutely responded to the epidemic, therefore work in all areas has been moving forward productively. The Chinese people are not afraid of any difficulties and dangers, and are confident and capable of defeating the epidemic as soon as possible.

Wang Yi thanked the South Korean side for its willingness to provide China with the necessary help, and emphasized that China will continue to strengthen cooperation with the international community in a responsible manner and on the principle of openness and transparency. At the same time, China will continue to ensure the health and safety of all foreigners in China, including the South Koreans.
